My Art is Rooted in Nature and Shaped by the Human Heart
My sculptural work explores themes of connection, transformation, and the deep bond between humans and the Earth. Through sculptural forms inspired by nature, I evoke experiences of being held, emerging, and expanding. Balancing solidity with moment, lightness with openness, my pieces invite viewers to reflect on the sacred cycles of growth, release, and renewal that shape us all. My hope is that each piece offers not just a visual experience, but a felt one—an invitation to return to what is essential, embodied, and whole.
Bound
This piece explores the complex experience of being bound—but not trapped. It speaks to the tension we all face at times: held tightly by circumstances, emotions, or identities, yet still sensing the possibility of release.
The delicate ribbon suggests both beauty and restraint, while the subtle opening within the form becomes a quiet symbol of hope. It reminds us that even within limitation, there is movement. Even within containment, there is the potential to crack open, to shift, to grow. This work holds space for both the struggle and the liberation—the truth that boundlessness is always possible.
Universal Flow
Spinning through the spirals of universal flow, we are each on a journey of becoming. This piece is a remembrance of that cosmic dance—of movement, expansion, and the cycles that shape us. It speaks to the ever-turning rhythm of life: outward, inward, and onward again.
The spiral, an ancient symbol of growth and transformation, invites us to embrace not just the light but also the darkness—not as something to fear, but as a sacred pause. Umbilical
This piece is a meditation on connection—both primal and enduring. It pays homage to our first lifeline: the umbilical cord that tethered us to our mothers, offering nourishment, safety, and the spark of becoming. In the same way, we remain intimately connected to the Earth—whether we recognize it or not.
This work seeks to make visible that invisible thread. The Earth is our greater womb, our silent provider, our constant source of life. It feeds us, holds us, and breathes with us. Through this piece, I invite viewers to remember that we are never separate—we are, and have always been, umbilically bound to the Earth.
Earth Vessel
This piece is a tribute to foundation—the bedrock of creation, the quiet strength beneath all life. Formed to evoke the solidity and texture of stone, it anchors the viewer in a sense of grounding and stability.
Yet within its weight and stillness, moments of light emerge—reflections that catch and shimmer across the surface. These glimmers hint at the often-unseen beauty woven into the Earth's core, reminding us that the ground we walk on is not just support, but sacred. This work invites reflection on what holds us—physically, spiritually, and collectively—and honors the Earth as both origin and enduring foundation.
Emerging
From the depths of silence and shadow, we begin to emerge—again and again—into new versions of ourselves. This piece captures the feeling of transformation in motion: the tension of breaking through, the vulnerability of becoming, and the quiet strength required to step from the unknown into the light. Mother and Child
These two forms embody the intimate and evolving relationship between mother and child. Though distinct in size and shape, they move in quiet harmony—engaged in an unspoken dance of connection, reflection, and growth.
Bound by shared memory and mirrored traits, they are deeply linked, yet uniquely themselves. Each one shapes and stretches the other—challenging, supporting, and urging one another toward fuller expression. This piece honors the sacred tension between togetherness and individuality, between holding close and letting go.
Womb
This piece evokes the essence of a womb-like experience—a space of origin, protection, and profound connection. Through its organic form, enveloping contours, and the interplay of interior and exterior elements, it invites the viewer into a state of being both held and cradled. The colors and shapes speak to the primal memory of safety and unity, reminding us that we are not separate from nature, but continuously carried within the great womb of the Earth itself.
Artist Statement
My work is a meditation on connection—between body and Earth, mother and child, constraint and emergence, silence and movement. Through sculptural form, texture, and symbolic interplay, I explore the deeply human experiences of being held, bound, shaped, and ultimately transformed.
Each piece begins with a reverence for origin—whether it's the primal tether of the umbilical cord, the womb-like cradle of the Earth, or the spiral path of universal flow. I work with themes of foundation and becoming, aiming to surface what is often unseen: the quiet beauty of grounding, the sacred pause in darkness, the subtle moment before breaking open.
There is an ongoing dialogue in my work between solidity and softness, containment and release. Materials that feel heavy or structured are often met with gestures of lightness, reflection, or subtle openings—inviting the viewer to sense the possibility of expansion, even within boundaries.
At its heart, my practice is about remembering: the ways we are held, the ways we grow, and the deep interconnection that binds us to each other and to the Earth.
